Manage New Product Introduction(NPI) Plans

Introduction

The Firstshift NPI Planning supports several key use cases. The following are a few key Use Cases.

  1. Introducing a brand extension, 
  2. Launching a new product category with no similar products in the existing portfolio
  3. Product introductions within an existing category. A new product is added to a market with similar offerings. 
  4. Line extension. A new version or variant of an existing product is introduced. 
  5. Product replacement. An updated product version is launched to replace an older model.

Navigation

You can access the NPI plan from the Demand Planning. 

Clicking on NPI planning will open the screen below.


  1. NPI plan name: You must provide a unique name for the NPI plan. You can give a personalized name that is easy to remember. The name must be without any special characters.
  2. NPI item: This is the NPI item selected to develop the plan. 
  3. NPI item description: You can describe the plan to explain its purpose. You can skip this field as this is optional.
  4. Forecast period: The forecast horizon refers to the time frame over which sales and revenue for a new product are projected. This represents the period during which the application should generate the NPI forecast.
  5. Last run status: 
    1. When the NPI plan is created, it is "Not started.
    2. When you click on the Run button, it is In Progress
    3. The status of the NPI plan becomes "Success" once the plan is generated and
    4. Failed when the NPI configuration is not done correctly. 
  6. Last updated: Time and date stamps will appear based on the creation and editing of the NPI plan.

Actions: 

Run: You can re-run or run the NPI plan to see the results with the latest data.

Delete: You can delete any NPI plans by clicking the delete button.

More:


  • Edit: Clicking on the edit button will take you to the edit NPI plan page, where you can change the configuration.
  • Rename: Planners can rename the NPI plan by clicking the Rename option, which opens a pop-up where they can change the name and save their changes. This will reflect the NPI plan immediately after saving. 


Create NPI: To create a new NPI plan, click on Create NPI.
