Create a Role
To access the Create Role page, navigate to the Roles and Permissions list screen and click the Add Role button. This action will open the Create Role page, where you can define and configure a new role by assigning a name, description, and specific permissions or access rights.
Fill in all the mandatory fields to create a role.
Role name: This is a required field where you must provide a unique name for the role. The name should represent the purpose or responsibility associated with the role. If a duplicate name is entered, the system will display an error message indicating that the role name already exists and prompting you to choose a different one.
Role Description: This is a mandatory field where you must provide a summary describing the role's purpose or responsibilities. The description should convey what the role is intended for, helping administrators and users quickly identify its function within the system.
Feature permissions: In the feature permissions, you will able to see all features that are configured for the tenant along with actions like
View: When view permissions are enabled for the role, the created user with this role can view all features when logged into the application. All other options will not be visible in the application.
If only view permission is provided to a role, then a user with this role can only see the details in the application but can’t create, edit, or delete the data.
The application hides create, edit, and delete icons/buttons on the UI.
Delete: Delete permissions will be available only for a few features, such as forecast management, planning views, and segmentation. When these permissions are enabled, the user can delete the planning views, forecasts, and segmentation.
The role should have view permission as a prerequisite to grant delete permission.
Edit: Edit permissions will be available only to a few features, such as user management, role management, forecast management, segmentation, inspect data, etc. When edit permissions are enabled, the user can edit the created forecast jobs, planning views, etc.
The role should have view permission as a prerequisite to grant edit permission.
Create: Create permissions that are available for the forecast, user management, role management, segmentation, and planning views.
The role should have view permission as a prerequisite to grant create permission.
Measure permissions: Similar to the feature permissions, you can create a role with the measure permissions. This field consists of all available measures for editing and viewing actions.
Edit: Some measures can be overridden in the planning views, where you can edit either history or future values by clicking on the edit button in the planning view results pages, such as the multi-item view and single-item view.
View: Roles with View Measure permissions can view those measures in the planning views, forecast, dashboard, etc
The created role will appear in the user management role dropdown immediately after saving the role.
