How to delete the forecast record

To delete the forecast, click the delete icon available for each forecast, as shown below.

Clicking the delete icon opens a pop-up like the one below, showing the forecast name.

Click yes to delete the forecast and no to terminate the delete process.

What happens if I delete a forecast scenario or forecast from Forecast Management?

After deleting the forecast, you won’t see the results. However, the forecast results already published will be included in the demand planning time series. Hence, they won't be impacted.

Forecast deletion behavior

• When a forecast scenario or forecast record is deleted, the application removes only the corresponding record from the Forecast Management.

• This action does not impact the forecast results that have already been published to Demand Planning.

• In other words, once a forecast has been published, deleting the scenario will not delete or modify the data already submitted to Demand Planning.

Data model and independence of forecasts

• Each forecast record is stored as an independent dataset in a separate table, and every forecast has a unique Forecast ID.

• Even if multiple forecasts are created for the same item, each forecast remains independent of the others.

• Deleting one forecast record will only remove that specific record and will not affect any other forecasts created for the same item.

Impact on published forecasts

• Once a forecast is published, the data is stored in separate Demand Planning tables.

• Therefore, deleting a forecast or forecast scenario will only remove it from the forecast tables within the Forecast module.

• The statistical forecasts already published to Demand Planning remain intact and unaffected by this deletion.

This design ensures that forecasts are managed independently, preventing accidental loss or modification of published forecast data.
